Residential HVAC Service Technician

As our newest Residential HVAC service technician you will be expected to perform various functions in ensuring the prompt repair and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems for homeowners and tenants in various dwelling types with different mechanical systems and configurations. 

Overview

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical inspection and maintenance on equipment to bring them to optimal performance

  • Perform oiling, belt adjustment, cleaning of equipment, greasing, and other specific preventive maintenance work

  • Determine service requirements by applying technical skills and experience, including system operations and preventive maintenance experience

  • Serve as a company representative to other contractors, owners, and trades

  • Give preventive maintenance inspections performed to representative/owner and suggest corrective actions to be applied

  • Give advice on additional services to customers that may be beneficial to them

  • Complete and submit needed paperwork in a timely manner to the service coordinator

  • Perform other functions that may be assigned by the service coordinator or manager

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of residential HVAC service experience 

    • May consider technical education in addition to 1 year of field experience

  • You must own tools to perform the basic functions of the job, including but not limited to; hand tools, gauges, volt meters, etc.

  • Your own transportation

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Driver’s License and clean driving record

  • Ability to pass a drug screening

  • Technically inclined and able to use mobile devices in the field

    • May be required to complete field reports on site, send and receive information electronically throughout the work day, navigate field software and systems

  • Ability to work without direct supervision

  • Communicate effectively with office personnel, coordinator, and management as needed

  • Maintain a positive attitude, especially in the field with customers

    • Be able to educate and reassure the customers as needed regarding their system’s needs and your recommendations
